| "See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:1-2 We are setting aside 48 hours of time with our Father, to spend time knowing Him more intimately and experiencing His heart for us and those around us. Please come join us in this special time of prayer. We will begin with a potluck dinner at the Lewis House (time to be announced) and then start the 48 hours of prayer at 9:00 p.m. We may end with a time of corporate prayer and worship depending on what people want to do (if you have thoughts on this, post them on the wall here). Like we've done in the past, we invite you to sign up for an hour or more in the prayer room. We've found that while you can pray anywhere, you often experience God in a different way when we're all coming to the same place to fill it with prayer for a designated amount of time. It becomes what the ancient Celts called a "thin place", a place where the separation between Heaven and earth is thinner and experience God in a deep way. On a practical note, it also helps to get away from the distractions of home and our usual environments. The prayer room will be in the basement of the Lewis House this time (in the nursery room, so it'll be heated and will have access to a bathroom :-D), 4130 Lewis Ave., Toledo, OH 43612 We will also have sign up sheets available at the Lewis House.
